Hey Everyone! Well, the snow is finally melting away, so that's good, I guess. Since Valentines Day is 2 weeks away, I decided that I would put up a DIY post. I didn't just use red and pink colors for these projects, because you don't want to have to take them down as soon as Valentines Day is over. If you use a lot of different colors, you'll get to keep up the decorations all year! So, let's get started!
|
What You Need: colored paper, white paper, colored pencils, scissors, glue, tape |
1. Heart Air Balloon
|
First, cut up a bunch of hearts. Then, make a little basket using paper. I added a tag on the basket that says "Love is in the air...". Then, take two strips of paper to attach the basket to the balloon(I just took a sheet of paper, and cut into a balloon shape). Once you've attached everything together, start gluing the hearts to the balloon shaped paper. I didn't even realize that one of the three holes in the sheet of paper is right at the top, so I can put a string through it and hang it up! |
2. Toilet Roll Owls
|
This DIY decoration is pretty easy to make. I actually got this idea from a website called happyclippings.com so check it out if you need help with it. On the website it says that you should use scraping book paper, but you can make your own. I drew hearts on one sheet of paper, and polka dots on the other. And for the eyes, you don't have to use googly eyes. I just drew two pairs of eyes, cut them out, and taped them to the owl. |
3. Queen of Hearts
|
This is also a pretty easy DIY project. First, cut out a strip of paper, and cut the top into the shape of a crown. I also glued little gold circles to it(one of them came off). You can decorate the crown anyway you want. I wrote Queen of Hearts on mine. Then, I filled up the jar with more gold and silver circles, and add candy to the jar. Then, cut out bigger hearts than the first DIY, and tape them to straws. Put the heart straws in the jar, and wrap the crown around the jar, and tape it. Going along the Queen of Hearts theme, I put a few playing cards in the jar! |
4. Heart Garland
|
I actually made this about 3 months ago, so it's kind of tangled. Sorry about that...hehe. You have to cut up a bunch of hearts, again. To make it look cooler, some of the hearts I cut up are pages out of an old Teen Vogue magazine. Tape about 5 or 6 hearts in a row to a string of paper. Do this with about 6 strings. Then, attach each string to a cardboard strip, and hang it up to admire! |
I hope you enjoyed these DIYs!
Thank You!
