Hey Everyone! T.G.I.F, right?
Well, it's that time of month again!
No, not that time of month...
It's time for me to tell you what I've been liking this past month with the hopes that you'll try out these things too! August Faves!!!!!!!!
Beauty
I actually went out and bought some beauty products (well, they're not makeup, but I still consider them beauty-related!)!
1. Vaseline Lip Therapy: After months of damaged lips (well, they weren't exactly damaged, but they got chapped too often), I knew it was time to revert back to the original lip product: good ole' Vaseline. I don't have to apply it that often, and my lips still don't get chapped! Plus, I got the really really mini container! So cute!
2. Nivea Lip Butter: I had wanted to try this out for a while, but I just didn't get around to it, until a couple of weeks ago when I found a $2 off coupon in the Sunday newspaper. So, I thought, why not? It's normally $4, so it was basically half off! It works so well, and it smells delicioso!
Entertainment:
Songs
Kirk Franklin- A God Like You: Okay, so I've heard this song before, and I've always liked it, but a few weeks ago, we took my big sister back to school, and since I knew it was a 4 hour drive, I downloaded a few more songs on my phone, and this was one of them. You know how when you have your earphones in, you hear things in a song that you would have never heard otherwise (Or, is that just me?). Well, that's what happened when I listened to this song. I heard the lyrics more clearly, and it was seriously inspiring.
Here are some of the lyrics:
Everybody wanna be like you, they
want power and grace like you, but
see, there is no god, like our God,
there's no one like You
Whenever I even think to get a big head (God forbid!), I'll just pop my earphones in, and turn on this song!
The Script ft. Will.i.am- Hall of Fame: I've also heard this song before. A contestant performed it on The Voice a couple of seasons ago. I wanted to look it up, but I didn't get around to it.
Then, last week Friday, my little sister came home from school, and said she had to do an assignment based on this song. I guess, they had to explain what some of the verses meant, so watched the music video, and I think that made the song even better!
Movie
God's Not Dead: If you read my Bloggers With Class Award tag post, you probably know that I watched this movie last month. Most of the movie wasn't predictable at all (which is great), and I really liked it! This movie is such a great way to minister to people, and I really think more Christian movies like this one should come out in theaters!
Random
Seventeen Magazine September 2014 issue: The reason the September issue is one of my August faves instead of the August issue is because I actually got this one first. I was kinda late to the newsstands, as they call them, to pick up the August issue, so they were taken off of the stands before I could get to them!
Or so, I thought: Last weekend, I went to Rite Aid with my Dad, and I wasn't even looking for the magazine because I just assumed that every store had taken them down, but then, I saw it! I was so excited!
But, anyway, I like all the issues of Seventeen. The September issue was a favorite of mine because I hadn't bought it since May (they have a joint June/July issue which goes on stands in May, if you're wondering.).
Cookie Dough Oreos: I finally tried them, and "Yummy!" is all I can say about them!
The Life Book: I got this book last week. I went to a Church fair with 2 of my new college friends (Yeah, I have college friends. Swag.). Basically it was just an ice cream social where we went from table to table to see all the different Churches, Church events, etc. that were either on-campus or around the town. This book just so happened to come in one of the bags that this particular Church was handing out. It's basically a devotional about what God means to you! I've already started reading it, and I think it's great!
Well, those are all of my August Faves!
So, what have you been liking in the month of August?
