5 Ways You Can Help Others this Christmas

Hello, Beauts!!!!!!
(that's what I'm gonna start calling you guys! Beauts.)
Thanksgiving 2014 has passed, and up next is Christmas!!!!!!
Christmas is my favorite holiday, so I'm really excited.
Christmas trees, lights and decorations, hot chocolate, candy cane, eggnog, reading about the true meaning of Christmas with my family - Bah! I'm so excited!

Thinking about all of these things, the traditions of Christmas, makes me feel for those in need, those who don't have homes or don't have food to eat.
But, there are ways we can help them, especially during the holiday season. Here are some ideas, but first some verses and inspirational quotes to inspire you:

1. Help out at a local food shelter: The number of food shelters out there are many, so there should be at least 1 in your state. And it's actually a lot of fun. It's so nice to see the expression on these peoples faces, people who haven't eaten in days. It's really a great experience!

2. Donate clothing: If you have clothes that you don't wear anymore, and that you would like to give, donate them! If you feel comfortable going downtown, and actually handing coats out to people, then definitely go for it.

3. Visit a children's hospital: I know children in hospitals aren't necessarily less fortunate than us financially, but in other ways, they really are. They're in the hospital because they;re sick or hurt, and Christmas is a really hard time for them especially if they're not able to go home. Visiting them in the hospital, and maybe taking a gift (or perhaps whip out your guitar and sing for them!) to them is sure to bring a smile to their faces!
Note: You can do the same with a nursing home!

4. Make care packages for soldiers: You and your friends are always together, so stay together and make care packages for soldiers who won't be able to be with their families this Christmas. Include simple things like lip balm, sunscreen. Check out this post on veteransunited.com on What Deployed Troops Really Want In Their Care Packages. And of course, don't forget to write a thank you note, telling them how thankful you are for their service.

5. Plan your own food drive: Start a fundraiser, go out and by canned goods, and start your own food drive! Check out how a blogger did it!

I hope this gave you a few ideas on how you can help others this Christmas!
If you have any other ideas, let me know!
Thank You!
